Trump's super intelligence is rapidly catching up in the USA with
    >3X rise in search as Google Trends shows decreasing interest in
    >'Enemy' AI while the rest of the world blissfully ignores it

Meanwhile they've discovered that AI can self replicate and hide
inside your robotic vacuum cleaner and smart light switches. B)

And Trump is setting things up so that when his party gets trashed
in the mid-term elections he can blame it on non-existant Canadian
    election interference..

LOL, yeah, I posted an article about how Anthropic believes that AI can now "infect" IoT devices like those. I am glad I don't have any of those.

And Trump is setting things up so that when his party gets trashed
in the mid-term elections he can blame it on non-existant Canadian election interference..

I had not heard that. I had heard that he plans to blame, and let go, some
of his cabinet should the election go as predicted.

That said, over the past 26+ years, the press (and now social media with
them) have enjoyed a great deal of very incorrect election predictions.
They, too, often blame interference and collusion for their failures. ;)

Maybe the BBSing scene can gain from this. AI agents will discover that so few people use BBSes and FTN Mail Systems these days, it'll be the perfect cover for their swarms, and BBSing will have a surge in (albeit artificial) users! Still a win, I think?? Perhaps? At least there will be a few more messages.

    I had not heard that.

I caught a bit about that a few days ago and apparently they picked
out some negative comments from Canada a year or so ago on some of
the things he was doing and are using that as proof. That was
tossed out pretty quickly it seems though. Nothing more has been
said about this but it will probably be resuscitated after the
elections if they goes as expected.

He was really going after Canada again today but they said on the
news that it was a total waste of time since Kentucky, where he
was speaking, is so Red and so Pro Trump that there was no point in
it there since if any state is still Pro Trump, Kentucky probably is.

I had heard that he plans to blame, and let go, some of his cabinet

He certainly is working at getting rid of his new Press Secretary
as quickly as he can after she got caught lying (about credentials)..

Should things go as predicted I wonder if that will add some limits
on what Trump can do on his say so alone.

There have been some debates about that in other echoes and on other
networks. A network or two have pretty strict rules about not using AI to generate posts. Others don't, and a few even have echoes that specifically tell you that the echo includes AI interactions.

I don't really see a value in having an echo or network where most all of
the posts are AI bots interacting with echo other. However, I am sure
there are several ways that AI could be included in a productive way that engages human users. Any sysop doing so would need to monitor the bot(s) closely, though, to make sure they are not trying to play outside of
whatever box they are intended to stay in.

I think that last bit is possibly impossible. ;)

    You ding-dang Canadians. :D

He was really going after Canada again today but they said on

where he was speaking, is so Red and so Pro Trump that there
was no point in it there since if any state is still Pro Trump,
    Kentucky probably is.

Well, I don't know which part of Kentucky he was in. If it were a Presidential election, I would agree. As it is a congressional election, and some of the Republicans are not incumbents (at least one, thanks to Trump and AIPAC!), the local press seems to think (or wish!) that a seat or two might be in play.

I think they could be. The one thing that helps Republicans here is not so much that the state is pro-Republican but they are so pro-life. That is one of the reasons the Democrats completely lost Kentucky.

When I registered to vote in 1988, the saying was that if you were not a registered Democrat you had no say in politics here. Being a Republican in most of the state was like being a member of any other third party. Now that is only true in Louisville. The Democrats at the national level went far enough left on many issues that they lost the rest of the state almost overnight.

We do still have a Democrat governor, but that is because he comes across as Christian and downplays any differences he might have with them politically. If he had run his campaign like they do it in Louisville, he'd have lost the rest of the state.

I had heard that he plans to blame, and let go, some of his

Secretary as quickly as he can after she got caught lying

I was not sure why he canned her but that was sure quick. They announced her on Tuesday, and she was fired by Friday evening. ;) I would have figured that she would have fit right in but I think this close to the midterms they are trying to do damage control, and she was more damage than control.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the mid-terms..
Should things go as predicted I wonder if that will add some
limits on what Trump can do on his say so alone.

*If* the Democrats take control of the House, it most certainly should. Right now they Republicans have an absolute Trump "yes-man" in charge as Speaker. He is a very unfunny joke. He has kept them on recess so that nothing can happen before the midterms.

As I pointed out before, though, remember that the US press has predicted an awful, awful lot of midterm flips in recent years that came no were near happening. So I won't believe any of their predictions until I see them, even with this one being more likely than before. People being angry at Trump, and the Democrats actually running capable candidates are two very different things.

Yeah, Peter Navarro, a few weeks back threw out that they'd be keeping
an eye out for Canadian meddling in border state elections. No proof,
no allegations - just enough to get in the mind of MAGA.

Replying to myself -- whereas we were caught astroturfing an initiative
for Alberta independence, which failed 76% to 24%.

A large part of media manipulation is choosing which image to go with
your story - you've seen the highly contrasted photos of Trump
    discussing his health.

The photo of Carney accompanying the story I read was the smuggest
looking grin I've seen in a politician in a long time. :)
